Candy's Dog

Of Mice and Men

Symbol:Candy's Dog

I'm an old man with nothing to treasurer or to do with my life. I got one hand and nothing to live for. My dog got an bullet to head because he was old and he stinked. I'm old with one hand I wonder what they are going to do with me. Either there going to can me, or do with me, like they did to my dog. I believe this is what Kandy was thinking to himself. This is how it all starts thinking negative about life. You start to think more about death. Every time you turn around life is bringing you grieve. Finally you dream no more it is basically the end of all your dreams. When Kandy's beloved dog was murdered with his permission this was the curse that besought him.

When Kandy dog was shot with his permission to myself it put him in shock. When someone dies if you resign in the same area where you and your counter part lived anything and everything can bring you grieve. The gun is at the top the the list any sight of a gun would probably make him think of that dreadful day. Even a area where the dog always playes. Most of all seeing the site where the dog got the bullet to his head just seeing the blood or brains that was left over from his poor dog.

After this comes the the end of Kandy's dreams. His dreams left him hope, of someday letting his dog mate. Or even purchasing the a dog house or something like that.He probanly dreamed of just retiring and it would be he and his dog. But the dog is dead. His dreams left him in a instance and gave him a cloud of smoke. So what eles is there to live for Kandy mind as well die.

Kicking the bucket. Religiously your cup ran over. It is a period of time where everyone has to pass no one lives forever. But for Kandy it is a scapegoat. He had no family anything to live for. He had money in the bank but what is the point of having money if there is no one to spend it on. So he mind as well die that was his last resort. He either work until the "Glory Train" comes to take him to the last stop.

Or just live life with no dog. No dreams, and and no way of ever loving life again.

Lennie's Puppy

Of Mice and Men

Symbol: Lennies Puppy

Oh where, oh where has my little dog gone? Oh where, oh where can he be? With his ears so short and his tail so long. Oh where, oh where can he be? In the book Of Mice and Men, Lennie finally receives the puppy George promised him. Steinbeck shows us that Lennie's Puppy could mean a lot to big child minded man. For instance the puppy can be a sign of Lennie’s new beginning. Secondly the puppy could hold all of Lennie's hopes. Finally most of all it maybe could even is significant to Lennie's dreams.

I hope George will get my dog sooner or later, is what Lennie would have said. But he finally got his puppy it was probably a combo holiday for Lennie. Christmas and any other important holiday for a man with the intelligence of a 5 year old. So Lennie faith and hope was restored due to a little puppy. He was basically dreaming again and he knew that his new beginning was soon to come.

Soft things, mice, puppies, and tending them rabbits are what George was not dreaming about before he received his puppy. But now George is probably sitting on loads and loads of silk that he can rub on until his hands fall off. Mice which Lennie always loved to hold but accidentally killed, but in his dreams he probably playing with an immortal Stewart Little. A known fact from the book was that George dreaming about tending them rabbits. On the farm that he and his partner or loving handler will soon own.

Lennie's new beginning is just a hop, skip and a jump away. He just needs keep his hopes, and dreams on his mind. And his new beginning should be around the corner waiting for him. He has his puppy his buddy George, and whatever is soon to come will be what he is looking for.

The Farm

Of mice and men

The Farm

Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. In the book Of Mice and Men Steinbeck is trying to show how anything can be symbolic. For instance the Farm was could be three things. It was like a Promise Land for the residence. Secondly the Farm was significant to heaven. Finally of all the symbols of the Farm was success for the entire group of workers because of the pay at the end of the road. To discuss these symbols I will use George and Lennie.

Everyone looks for success, whether it is under a rock, or over as long as it’s coming with good pay. For George and Lennie, since they were just running from a dreary land with nothing but trouble and nothing coming out of what George was trying to do? The Farm was a land of promise for a seed to sow into maybe where they could start their own promise land. So they were basically working for a heavenly place of their own while they lived someone else’s backyard.

A promise is made for the reason that there was something wrong with a past situation. If you were to live in the town of Weed you would make a Promise to go after success. So on the Farm it was a Promise Land in success for going after their heavenly place.

Heaven a place up in the sky that is promised to people who searched for success. In away that is right. So George and Lennie putting their 50 dollars together along with Candy’s 350 dollars. To get near the land that they promised they would reach. That would be raining in success. Also be significant to heaven. But everyone falls short of Gods glory, but that is why Christ sacrificed his life. This goes to show to get what you want something has to be sacrificed. Whether it was Candy being canned or done with like his dog. And maybe George being done with like Candy’s dog.

Whether George and Lennie were on the right track to the heavenly land of promise, raining with success. It is your desicenion.

Idioms

The hells what I say.

This was used by Lennie in the book around the fourth page. The reason Lennie said this was because Geogre said a lecture that Lennie once said to him but it was for the wrong time since Lennie was agrovated he just meant to say forget what I say instead he used a idiom.

Big Steps for Black President

Big Steps for Black President

Baracka Obama Black Democratic Presidential Candidate was recently at presented his speech before the Great City of Philadelphia and all over the world.

I guess a question might be bought up about what did this man talk about was it just the usual for any government official giving false hope to the citizens during there campaigning. But he decided to talk about “race” which is bought anytime his name is presented amongst anyone. He would have to address the words of Hillary Clinton, Pastor Jeremiah Wright, and Geraldine Ferraro concerning race.

At number one Hilary Clinton basically saying that Obama would not stand a chance at being President, but the both of them would make a great Democratic duo. Why might he have a chance I guess because he is black, Obama’s response was no to being a duo.

Secondly Pastor Jeriamah Wright Speech which occurred years ago but since Obama is running for President it was put back in to the breeze affecting the media and Obama’s speech. The speech was called “God D**n America”. He basically talked about the war and treatment to African Americans, in church but as I last recalled saying God’s name in vain is talked about in the Ten Commandments.

Finally Geraldine Ferraro saying that Baracka Obama would not have any votes if he were white. Not only is that another understatement but also she worked for Hilary Clinton and resided from the campaign. So if this is what a close worker to the boss thinks what is the Boss thinking the same.

Inconclusion to this great speech it is going down in history for the best speech. I could it was the best because a half black half white man wrote it but no then I would be no better than Hillary Clinton, Pastor Jeremiah Wright, and Geraldine Ferraro. This is just

Garden the Front Of the Constitution Center

As a school what do we do for our supporters but gie them a good reason for sponsoring our school. The Constitution Center like front yard is pretty due to the trees and the evergreen but it would be a good idea to redecorate add about 500 flowers. That would be nice to do to sort of repay them back for all the things they did for us.

Native Son

Wall Too Wall

Within this chapter we as readers get an inside perspective of the mindset that Bigger Thomas has on his life. From the time that he spends trying to kill a rat that made it’s way into his one bedroom apartment to the reading of the words “YOU CAN’T WIN” flying across the sky liner of Southside Chicago, and all in between is a young black male who is stuck inside an mindset which can’t seem to stem past the walls of his little mind and more so poverty stricken Southside Chicago. So how will Bigger escape this little world of his, which does not go past those four walls? The answer is yet to be determined…………

Please Say No

Bigger and his friends come up with a plan to rob a store owned by a white man by the name of Mr. Blum. This is a turning point in the book of fear for the fact that Bigger and his gang have never robbed a white man. As Bigger forces his friend Gus to go along with the plan when he really wants him to say no. But why, Because Bigger is nothing more then a poser under pressure. Bigger really does not want to go along with it but to keep his manly image he will do what ever it takes to keep his name. So will he go through with it? Who knows what will happen at quarter too three…………

Quarter Too Three

At this point Bigger is pleased with the lateness of Gus. He’s happy because he is praying that they do not have to go through with the plan. But not too much later did Gus show up and bigger surly beat that living hell out of him. Bigger did that because he didn’t want to face his fear of robbing a white man. So how did he handle it? Caused a conflict with the group to prevent the plans from going through but in the larger picture to keep his name.

Bigger Thomas Hired

Head Line

In the 1930’s Mr. Henry Dalton was the best philanthropist in all Chicago. First of all a philanthropist is mostly a white participant who only gives back to the black community or any community.

Mr. Dalton being a great philanthropist employer, 10 years ago he hired a black chauffer, until the exchauffer started to work for the government. Now it is time to find another employee to fill this position. At the time of 5:30pm Mr. Henry Dalton hired Bigger Thomas to be his chauffer. Bigger who is 21 and lives with his mother in a one-room apartment with his little brother and sister. He stays at the Dalton Family Residents never leaving until Sunday, which is his off day. He makes 20 dollars a week, which goes to his mother and a bonus 10 for his own pleasure. I guess Dalton feels very good about his new employee. This is what you call a saint he not only donates money to the "NAACP", but he also gave 5 million to blacks to go to college.

I can't even find a great enough title for this great man who, hires black chauffer,s, gives to the blacks for colleges, and donates money for the "NAACP.Should he be the man of the week or maybe evn the man of the month, I got it the man of the year,"Mr. Dalton.

Service Learning

I will do what ever I have to do, to complete and do the best I can with the school assignment. But outside of school the fifteen hours I have to complete I will be going to a Nursing Home. My Uncle works there and he is a artist so he is encharge of schedules and parties and what the people do that live in the nursing home. So one day I cracked a joke about him singing charoke for the old women, and he said" I will be coming to the Nursing Home for all Service Learning until I leave the school". So whatever assignment he gives I will do for fifteen hours.

NHD Reflection

For NHD I choose the project Church Of God In Christ the area and project type was a exibit due to the fact that I remembered someone telling about an event that conearned my church organization history. IT basically was relation to our topic for NHD so it was good and could help me get far. My partners who are never on the right track for NHD who are Zach, and Stephan. So I told them the stroy and they got to work. There was not any hardships for us but one thing when we had an court case but it was not the right one other than that the project was an successs which I recieved a 80 overall on.

Biology Project (Ampebious Car)

Amphibious Car

Zachary Kara & Khayree Jackson

The reason I chose this was because I thought that I should have fun with my project. I was very interested in building a small amphibious car. The idea seams to be both more than acceptable as a 10th grade project and appealing to my project partner and I. The idea of this project is to build a small mechanical car of about 5 inches in length 2 to 3 inches in width, and be able to drive it on water. As we researched approaches to making this we found that we could use K’nex to build the frame.

Question: is it possible to build an amphibious car out of k’nex?
Hypothesis: I hypothesis that it will be possible to build an amphibious car out of k’nex
Materials: 500 piece set of assorted k’nex parts, pieces of styraphome, hot glue gun, glue sticks for the hot glue gun, plastic folder.

Procedures:
Step1: pull out all different parts that are in the k’nex box
Step2: look in the booklet that comes with the box and choose a vehical to build
Step3: once the vehical is chosen assemble the parts needed to build the vehical
Step4: build the put the vehical together
Step5: shape a peace of styraphome out to fit on the bottom of the vehical
Step6: glue the styraphome with the hot glue gun to the bottom of the vehical or assemble two styraphome cut outs to the sides of the vehical depending on which vehical chosen, both methods work.
Step7: cut the folder into 1” long 1/4 “ width pieces.
Step8: fold the pieces in half from top to bottom, then strap at least 3 o noeach tire with rubber bands, the amphibiouse car is complete
Data Table:
Time Distance Direction
41 seconds 19 inches Forward
55 seconds 19 inches Backward
33 seconds 12 inches Forward
44 seconds 12 inches Backward

Results: the car does in fact drive on the water. It seems to drive faster going forward then backward.

Conclusion: Our hypothesis was correct we where able to build an amphibious car out of k’nex. This project was successful.

Church OF God In Christ

In 1897 and then in 1907 started the origination a Baptist descended Christian Charles Harrison Mason received the Holy Ghost and started a church organization called the Church OF God In Christ. But before the church of god in Christ Mason had a church vision, which was established in 1896, the origination was called the Church Of God. Mason had read the bible and found a verse which was 2 Thessolians 2:14 which made name church of god to not be the final name for his church’s it was just going to be the beginning three words of the five word name, the name was finalized to be called the Church of God In Christ.

His church on the riverside, preaching the word of God and telling people his testimony. His testimony was how he received the chills and a fever at 40 years old and God healed him on a first Sunday, which is Communion Sunday it may be proved that he was heal because of it being that day.

Sometimes after consist success people seen of the church was doing well so a church came into the origination but New Jerusalem COGIC wanted to have the church be apart of the Jurisdiction but they were suppose to be apart of Kansas Southwest COGIC to settle this dispute the national church had to be the judge of this dispute so when the results came in New Jerusalem COGIC still did not agree so it was taken to court. That was how C.H. Mason was brought into the dispute because he controlled the National Church also Mason was still the presiding Bishop until this time and until 1961.

The court ruled in favor of the Church of God In Christ founder so New Jerusalem was separated out of the COGIC family and was given Church of GOD, which was the first name Mason came up with.

My point essay

Growing up from what I was told and remember is that I came into the world Muslim up until the age of 3 ½, I started to go to church due to the fact that there was voodoo being done by a close member in my family. So our way out of that was Christianity.

I was born into this world a Moorish American, which is a descendent of Morocco who is still apart of Islam. My family practiced it because my grandfather is a Grand Sheik, which is another word for head of the majer, which is the mescaline form of the word. HE had two temples, one on 5th and dolphin, and the second was in Trenton his job was to regain worship inside the Temple. This may all seem nice but this had to soon end due to the lack of protection from Allah.

So it all ended to the reasoning of my grandmother remarrying but she was still Muslim, until we started to see sprits sitting on objects in the house, and blood being on the walls. My grandmother found out that it was my step Aunt who was doing it step daughter. Now the reason most people start to practice a religion is for protection from a higher power that you can call God.
